Brio @ Bangkok Marriott Resort and Spa
Brio is a new authentic Italian restaurant in Bangkok Marriott Resort and Spa first launched itself in July 2008. The name “Brio” means cozy and warmth. This 85-seat venue provides adequate lighting and space while you can feel the friendly and cozy ambience from its earth tone decoration of brick walls, paintings and chic accessories.
Chef Antonio Facchinetti is the venue’s head chef. He has been in Thailand for four years working as an Italian chef. Our sample menus fall onto antipasti, pasta dish, risotto, pizza and dessert.
We got started with the Moleche Fritte con Pomodoro Fresco all’Agro con limoni conservati which is the soft shell crab fried served with polenta served with marinated tomatoes and preserved lemon. This dish is nice with a good combination of all ingredients. Followed by the Allo Scoglio, seafood spaghetti of prawns, mussels, clams cooked with chili, parsley, garlic and olive oil. This dish has a little hot and spicy taste.
We were then served with the traditional baked pizza called Bianca al Prosciutto which is the Parma Ham pizza with fresh mozzarella, parmesan and arugula. The pizza is cooked perfectly and topped with rocket salad and it balances cheesy taste of the dish very well. It’s simply why we love it
The next dish is the Con Funghi Porcini which is the porcini mushroom risotto. The risotto is cooked perfectly: the rice is not too soggy outside or crisp inside with good combination of all ingredients.
We end our cheerful lunch with lovely Pena Cotta served with many refreshing fruits and berries to choose: cantaloupe, melon, red berry, blue berry and passion fruit. The sweet Pena Cotta and meringue go nicely with the sour tastes of fruit.
The staff and service are what we’re impressed about the place. Here you will receive a fast and tending service from active and smiling staffs. At the venue, there is wine and digestive selection liqueur for your food pairing as well as the outlet for traditional Italian ingredients. At day time, the venue is usually casual while at dinner, it will all be lighted with candle light changing to the romantic mode. It is a place you can simply feel the comfort from the cozy atmosphere and welcoming staffs.
